TAFE courses

TAFE (Technical and Further Education)
It’s the largest education sector in Australia (with over 230 institutes across the country). It offers courses in all fields: certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas. The courses taken in TAFE schools can also be used as credits recognized by certain universities in Australia.

They are usually four days per week and demand a high level of academic performance. TAFE courses are known to have an outstanding quality of education and a greater variety of courses compared to VET. Internships are usually paid and most of the students are Australian.

TAFE offers training for the following fields:
– Aeronautics
– Art and Design
– Construction and Design
– Business Administration
– Community Services and Health
– Information Technology
– Engineering
– Hotel Management and Hospitality
– Maritime Studies

The certificates student achieve in TAFE or VET courses meet international standards and prepare students to perform a variety of jobs. The degree depends on each course and its duration, which is why there are six levels:

Certificate: 2 – 3 months
Certificate II: 3 – 6 months
Certificate III: 6 – 9 months
Certificate IV: 9 – 12 months
Diploma: 1 – 1.5 years
Advanced Diploma: 1 – 2.5 years
